[Jared has countless sketchbooks and notebooks, and to be honest he doesn't really keep track of them. His journal must look like all the others, because tonight he doesn't write anything, just draws in vague, careless black charcoal strokes. The shape doesn't resolve itself for a long time, climbing up in long straight lines and shadows until a face in a window stares out of the page. The boy -- or perhaps girl -- looks young, dreamy, and a little tired with his or her chin on hand. They're staring out at the rain, and somehow he manages to capture the sheen of water on glass and the highlights of a light on behind. After a little while, he pauses.]

[Interested parties would have little difficulty finding an article about Jared Mirado's art showing. It spoke of his work in very flattering tones, about how it represents his charitable soul. No images were reproduced, so in order to have seen the works spoken of, one would have to attend.]
